Think Whitewater.

Just looking to see if anyone has an interest in finding a runnable river come Sunday..The forecast as of now is not looking to bad...

I am thinking about the Greenbriar River from Fort springs to Alderson. The level right now is at 3.5 and should be rather fun at that level.. This section of the Greenbriar is rated as class l-ll with a couple decent surf spots along the way.

I'll be keeping an eye out for the weather and river levels and will try to keep everyone updated as the week goes on....

Hey Bill, where is Fort springs and Alderson? About how long does the run take when you're not rushing? As long as it isn't too far away, I'm interested. I'd love to learn some more rivers than the few I have under my belt.

Ill be driving back from my Chattooga scouting trip Sunday. Im going to see if I can get into my wetsuit. It has been a while and I haven't completely maintained my girlish figure this fall and winter. Im really itching to go soon however.

Seriously - this is class I-II? Would love to run this stretch of river sometime. What gear is needed for this time of year? Not sure I am that bold and may wait it out but it sure is tempting.

Amy,
There are a couple of choices in gear to prepare yourself for cold weather paddling. First would be a nice full body wet-suit and the second would be a dry suit. A wet-suit can cost around $100-$150 and a dry-suit will be roughly $300-$$$$$...

If you don't make this trip, don't worry. I'm planning a trip for both our groups(NRV&Kayakmind) to hit this section once the weather warms up to give everyone the chance to enjoy.

Sorry everyone, but my plans have changed. I will be headed up to the Harpers Ferry area for a little weekend play time on the Shenandaoh and Patomac Rivers... I hope everyone has a great weekend.
