Think Whitewater.

Conner Jackson

High Water in Boise creates great play for boaters!

Its official: Idaho has high water. The rivers in or around Boise have all peaked aboved or around 10 ft. With all this high water, there has been massive amounts of play for us Idaho River Kids.
Waves are now soaring above our heads and there has the perfect oppurtunity to get on great waves. Most notably is the 36th street wave right in Boise. This wave is a really great wave if you stay to the left. We all have been able to surf it and some of us are throwing blunts and such. This wave is right where the Boise WhiteWater Park would start if it were built which only hints on the potential Boise has to become a playboating mecca.
Other waves that have been surfed or are going to be include the South Fork of the Payette play wave and the BLADDER WAVE. The South Fork play wave is a fairly small green wave that is a great place to stay and just surf. The Bladder wave has not been up this year due to the Hydro manangers not wanting to build up sediment in the mini resivoir. It is expected to be up this weekend so if you are thinking about coming to Boise this weekend- DO!

Boise is definately the place to be if you want some great play!

Also coming up is the Payette Boise River Revival (PBR) that features a boatercross down Staircase rapid, Giant Slalom extreme race down the lower 5 of the North Fork, and a Jr. Freestyle competiton where the winner wins a new Snapdragon spray skirt!
